Crystal Clusters & Geodes

These are the big pieces from my top shelf, beta: clusters of points still growing from their rock, a small geode broken open to show the violet inside, a polished citrine point and a raw chunk of black tourmaline. They are not for carrying. They are for a room.

A clear quartz cluster sits well where the family gathers. Amethyst suits a bedroom or a reading corner, where the evening should slow down. Black tourmaline goes by the front door, and citrine by the desk or wherever the money is kept. If you follow Vastu, the north-east is the place for the calming stones.

Each piece is natural, from a batch tested by a gem lab in Jaipur, so no two look alike. You may find a rough edge or the odd chipped point, which is how a real cluster comes out of the ground. The large amethyst cluster is a statement piece for a living room; the rest fit a shelf or a windowsill.

Bigger pieces need a little thought about where they will live. Choose the spot first, a shelf at eye level or a corner table, and then the stone. A cluster that is seen every day is enjoyed far more than one shut away in a cupboard.

Common questions

A cluster quietly works a whole room, so put it where people gather or where you wind down: the living room, the bedside, a work corner. In Vastu the north-east suits calming stones; many also keep one near the entrance. Dust it now and then, and give it moonlight once a month.

Dust it with a soft, dry brush or cloth; water collects in the gaps between the points. Give it moonlight once a month if you like. Keep amethyst out of long, direct sunlight, which slowly fades its colour.

Raw pieces come out of the ground with rough edges and the odd chip, and every cluster is a little different from the photo. It is natural stone, not a moulded copy.

Descriptions of what stones are “for” reflect traditional folklore, not medical fact.
