A small amethyst geode (500gm) a pocket of raw violet points inside a plain grey shell, split open to show the sparkle. Dadi set one where the light would catch it: a lot of shimmer for its size, and a little calm for the corner it sits in. A geode quietly works the space around it, so it suits a bedside, a desk, or a shelf in a room where you wind down. In Vastu the north-east suits the calming stones. Questions about this stone

Amethyst is the stone Dadi kept by the bed, for restless nights and a mind that will not settle. People reach for it to unwind in the evening, steady the breath, and feel a little calmer than the room around them. Treat it as a gentle evening ritual, not a cure.

Natural amethyst wears its colour unevenly: deeper at the tips of the points, paler towards the base, sometimes faintly banded when you turn it to the light. It feels cool, and a touch heavy for its size. Dyed glass is one flat purple all the way through and may hold small bubbles.

Rinse briefly in cool water and pat dry. Once a month, set it out overnight under the moon, or leave it resting on selenite between uses. Keep amethyst out of long, direct sunlight; its violet slowly fades in a bright window.

A cluster quietly works a whole room, so put it where people gather or where you wind down: the living room, the bedside, a work corner. In Vastu the north-east suits calming stones; many also keep one near the entrance. Dust it now and then, and give it moonlight once a month.

    Sparkle for the price

    Plain grey shell, deep violet points inside. Sits on my bookshelf catching the light. Every one is a different shape, and mine is lovely.

    Better than the photo

    The photos were good, but in person the crystals really glitter. Came well padded.
