Crystal Bracelets

Beta, a bracelet is the easiest way to keep a stone with you. It sits on your wrist through the whole day, through the meeting and the commute and the long phone call home, and every time you glance down, there it is.

Each one here is strung from natural 8mm beads on a soft stretch cord, so it slips over the hand with no clasp and fits most wrists from about 15 to 19 cm. Every batch of beads is tested by a gem lab in Jaipur before it reaches me, so what you wear is the real stone, not dyed glass.

Choose by what you want close: rose quartz for a soft heart, amethyst for a calmer mind at the end of the day, tiger's eye for courage before something big, black obsidian for steadiness, and the 7 chakra bracelet if you want a little of everything. Its turquoise bead is stabilised, as turquoise usually is, and I tell you so plainly.

They make an easy gift too, for a brother on Raksha Bandhan or a friend starting something new, and every one goes out with my hand-written blessing card.

Take it off before a bath or a swim so the cord lasts, and wipe the beads with a dry cloth now and then. That is all the care it asks.

Common questions

Each bracelet is 8mm beads on a stretch cord and fits wrists of roughly 15 to 19 cm. Roll it on over the hand rather than pulling the cord wide, and it keeps its shape for longer.

Yes. A sample from every batch goes to an independent gem lab in Jaipur, which checks that it is natural and not dyed, glass or reconstituted powder. The turquoise bead in the 7 chakra bracelet is stabilised so it survives daily wear, which is standard for turquoise.

Every day is fine; that is what it is for. Slip it off before you shower, swim or exercise, so the elastic and the stones last longer. Sleeping in it is your choice; some like amethyst close at night, others prefer to rest the wrist. Wipe it now and then with a dry cloth.

The old habit is to wear a stone on the left wrist to draw something in (calm, love, protection) and on the right to send something out, like confidence or courage. There is no real rule, though. Wear it where it sits comfortably and you will remember it is there.

Descriptions of what stones are “for” reflect traditional folklore, not medical fact.
