The turquoise-blue bead is stabilised so it survives being worn, which is standard for that stone. Wipe the beads with a dry cloth and rest the bracelet on selenite or in the moonlight once a week or so; take it off before washing or swimming.

Seven stones for the seven energy centres, root to crown: usually red jasper, carnelian, citrine, green aventurine, turquoise-blue, lapis lazuli and amethyst. Think of it as looking after every part of yourself, not only the loud one. A gentle all-rounder, and an easy way to begin with crystals.

The seven stones are natural, with the everyday variation you would expect, so no two pieces are quite alike. The turquoise-blue bead is usually stabilised so it survives being worn, which is normal for that stone. A set that is glassy, identical and unnaturally bright has been dyed.

Wipe the beads with a dry cloth, and rest the piece on selenite or in the moonlight once a week or so. Take a bracelet off before washing or swimming; water wears the elastic and does not suit every stone.

Every day is fine; that is what it is for. Slip it off before you shower, swim or exercise, so the elastic and the stones last longer. Sleeping in it is your choice; some like amethyst close at night, others prefer to rest the wrist. Wipe it now and then with a dry cloth.

The old habit is to wear a stone on the left wrist to draw something in (calm, love, protection) and on the right to send something out, like confidence or courage. There is no real rule, though. Wear it where it sits comfortably and you will remember it is there.
