The 7 Chakra Stones

Seven stones for the seven energy centres — a gentle all-rounder.

What The 7 Chakra Stones is

The seven-chakra set brings together one stone for each energy centre of the body in the yogic tradition, root to crown: usually red jasper, carnelian, citrine, green aventurine, turquoise or blue howlite, lapis lazuli and amethyst. Dadi kept a pouch of them by the door to hand out.

What people use it for

It is used as a way of tending to every part of yourself rather than one loud thing — a whole-system reset, and an easy, unintimidating way to begin with crystals. Wear the bracelet daily, or use a boxed set together during a quiet few minutes of breathing.

How to tell a real one

The seven stones should be natural, with the ordinary variation you would expect — no two bracelets quite alike. The turquoise-blue bead is usually stabilised so it survives daily wear, which is standard for that stone. A set that is glassy, identical and unnaturally bright has been dyed.

How to cleanse and charge it

Wipe the beads with a dry cloth and rest the piece on selenite or in the moonlight once a week or so. Take a bracelet off before washing or swimming — water wears the elastic, and not every stone on the string likes it.

How to use it

For the bracelet, wear it on whichever wrist is comfortable; there is no fixed rule. With a boxed set, lay the stones out in order from root to crown while you sit quietly, or simply keep the one you feel you need in a pocket for the day.
