Tiger's eye is for courage on a daunting day: a first meeting, an exam, a hard conversation. Dadi gave it to anyone who needed to stand their ground without hardening. Wear it, or keep it in a pocket where your hand can find it.

Real tiger's eye shows a moving band of light that slides across the gold-and-brown stripes as you tilt it. The colours are natural earth tones. Bright red or electric blue “tiger's eye” is dyed; natural red tiger's eye is rare, and rusty rather than scarlet.

Cool water and a dry cloth are fine; take a bracelet off before you bathe or swim so the cord lasts. Rest it on selenite or in the moonlight now and then, and keep it out of very long, hot sun to protect the sheen.

Every day is fine; that is what it is for. Slip it off before you shower, swim or exercise, so the elastic and the stones last longer. Sleeping in it is your choice; some like amethyst close at night, others prefer to rest the wrist. Wipe it now and then with a dry cloth.

The old habit is to wear a stone on the left wrist to draw something in (calm, love, protection) and on the right to send something out, like confidence or courage. There is no real rule, though. Wear it where it sits comfortably and you will remember it is there.
