Citrine

The merchant's stone — for fresh starts, enterprise and money that moves.

What Citrine is

Citrine is a golden variety of quartz, coloured by traces of iron. Natural citrine is uncommon and gently coloured — a soft lemon-honey. Dadi called it the merchant's stone and pressed one into your palm whenever you began something new.

What people use it for

It is associated with optimism, fresh beginnings and steady enterprise — the confidence to start and the follow-through to keep going. People keep a piece on the work desk, in a cash box, or in a bag when setting out on something new. A hopeful old custom, not a promise.

How to tell a real one

Natural citrine is a soft, even lemon-to-honey gold, warm rather than burnt orange, with no chalky white base where a heated crystal point was cut. Deep amber stones with a white bottom are heat-treated amethyst — common in the trade, but a different thing. Our citrine is natural, and the Jaipur lab report says so on every piece.

How to cleanse and charge it

A short rinse in cool water and a pat dry is enough. Citrine takes gentle morning sunlight well, so an hour or two on a sill is fine; otherwise leave it out under the moon once a month.

How to use it

In Vastu and Feng Shui the south-east is the wealth corner — a citrine point or a small cluster there is the classic placement, or on the desk where you do the work. A tumbled stone in a wallet or cash box is the pocket version. It sits well alongside pyrite and clear quartz.

Citrine Point

Citrine Point

A hand-polished citrine point, warm as afternoon sun and a soft, even lemon-honey gold — natural citrine, not heat-treated amethyst. The merchant's stone, Dadi called it: for fresh beginnings, open doors and money that keeps moving. She pressed one into your palm whenever you started something new. Keep it on the work desk or in the cash drawer, point upward. Citrine takes gentle morning sunlight well; otherwise a cool rinse and a night under the moon once a month is plenty. A printed report from the Gem Testing Laboratory in Jaipur travels with it, confirming it is natural with no dye or heat treatment.

Manifestation & Abundance Kit

Citrine, pyrite and clear quartz together in a pouch, with a card of words to say while you hold them. Dadi built little kits like this for anyone chasing something — citrine for the opening, pyrite for the nerve to go after it, and clear quartz to hold the whole wish steady and strong. Unwrap the stones, read the card, and name one clear intention in your own words; then keep them on a desk or windowsill where you will see them each day. Cleanse on selenite or in the moonlight once a month — pyrite dislikes water, so keep this set dry. A ready gift for a new venture.
