Citrine is the merchant's stone: for fresh starts, open doors, and money that keeps moving. Dadi pressed one into your palm whenever you began something new. Keep it on the work desk or in the cash drawer. A hopeful old custom, not a promise.

Natural citrine is a soft, even lemon-honey gold, warm rather than burnt orange, with no white patch where a heated point was cut. Deep amber stones with a chalky white base are heat-treated amethyst, common in the trade but a different thing. A short rinse in cool water and a pat dry is enough. Set it in the morning sun for an hour or two if you like (citrine takes gentle sunlight well), or leave it out under the moon once a month.
